SQUEEEEEE!!!!!!! *jumps up and down like a kid at Christmas*
That’s right, folks! This nerd’s biggest dream has come true…okay, it’s not my BIGGEST dream, but it’s pretty damn awesome! I actually get to attend a conference where I will get to hang with fellow nerds and have a kick-ass time!
GalaxyFest will feature TV and movie celebrities (I’ll revisit this in a moment), authors (YESSSSSSSSS!), artists, zombies, anime, gaming, costume contests, basically anything and everything a scifi/fantasy fanatic could hope for! 😀
One of the things I’m MOST excited about is the possibility of meeting some of my favorite ladies in TV:
As most everyone knows, I am a HUGE fan of Star Trek (I have 3 tattoos for crying out loud!) so meeting Denise Crosby would just be…FRIGGING AWESOME! *pant pant* I loved Tasha Yar in Star Trek: The Next Generation. She is a good role model for girls, not the idiots they seem to idolize today (Snookie, Kardashians, Lindsey Lohan).
I have this little dream where Denise comes up to my vending booth at GalaxyFest, pleased as punch to see me since she’s a HUGE fan of my books! *happy sigh* Okay, chances are she’s never heard of me but a girl can dream, can’t she?
The next lovely lady I hope to meet is Clare Kramer, also known as Glory, the COOLEST adversary on Buffy the Vampire Slayer! 🙂 Ahhhhh, Buffy! *gazes into space, brain filled with fond memories* I do miss the Buffy nights, when me, my sis, and our friends would watch the new episodes of Buffy EACH week without fail. Afterwards, we would head to Denny’s for some coffee and food so we could discuss for HOURS the deeper implications of the episode we had just seen and trying to figure out where Joss Whedon would go next.
The conference isn’t until February so I have a long ways to go to meet these two ladies I so admire and adore. In the meantime, I need to start ordering copies of my novels to bring with me, not to mention the postcards I shall give away! My friend, Mark Stone, and I will be sharing a table and hopefully selling the hell out of our books and if I’m REALLY lucky, Denise and Clare will buy my books, let me take a picture (or 10), and be life-long fans and come hang with me at my movie premier 😀
Again, there’s nothing wrong with a little dreaming!
