Jurassic Park 3D = Scary Dino Awesomesauce!

My sister and I went to see Jurassic Park 3D last night and it was so awesome! Jurassic Park is good even without the extra added 3D. It’s funny how you can see a movie a hundred times and yet it can feel like the first time… *cue soft music and ethereal fog*

Remember the scene where they catch the first glimpse of the inhabitants of Jurassic Park?

Oh yeah, you know you totally looked like them 😉 And I am sure I look like them every dang time I watch the movie.

Picture it: it’s dark and rainy and the tour vehicles have come to a complete stop right nest to the Tyrannosaurus paddock. You glance over and the goat  that was placed in the enclosure to tempt the T-Rex is no longer lounging about chewing its cud. Your heart races, knowing that if the goat is gone, there’s only one explanation.

Suddenly, you feel a vibration that starts in your toes and travels to your brain, causing the little hairs on your body to stand at attention. You glance at the glass of water on the dashboard and it ripples in time with each thundering boom. Your bowels turn to water and you hold your breath, hoping that it’s something else making the noise that is obviously moving closer and getting louder with each passing second.

*shivers* I am on the edge of my seat during this scene, even though I know what’s going to happen. I catch myself thinking that maybe things will turn out differently this time around.

Admit it, when this scene is playing, you duck and weave and push yourself back in your chair so far you swear you’re about to become a permanent addition to the upholstery. I can usually be found with my hands pressed against my face, holding in a scream threatening to escape.

Isn’t that what makes these movies classics? We can watch them over and over and we still react as though it were the first time we had seen it. Now all I can think of is what other movies might look like in 3D: Twister, Aliens, Independence Day, The Abyss…the list could go on and on. Okay Hollywood guys, let’s get on this 😉

I still get goosebumps at the end when the T-Rex gets the Raptors. There are some scenes that will never be forgotten for moments like those. Glad you enjoyed it. 🙂

I’m not sure how many times my hubby and I have watched Jurassic Park, but I’m always awed all over again in the scenes where they first see the dinosaurs. But my favorite scene is the one where they’re being chased by the T-rex and suddenly that rear view mirror thing pops up and you quit helping step on the gas and have to laugh. It’s a classic Spielberg sneaky moment that helps make his movies so great.

HAHAHA!!! I totally do that! And when it rams the car with its head I am leaned all the way over off the couch. And the screech of the raptors…*shudder* makes my skin crawl
