Good morning and welcome to a surprise edition of In the Books, featuring Across the Fields by Bethanie Armstrong. (Gotta keep you guys on your toes. 🙂 )

The story begins following a young woman named Cami Crenshaw. Cami is the type of person we’d love to meet. Sweet, kind, and generous are some of the wonderful qualities about her, but there’s something more beneath the surface. Following her father striking her, her mother send her, her sister, and brother to a farm called Heaven on Earth, where her oldest brother has become their legal guardian. Everything on the farm seems perfect, like a true paradise except for a young man, Jace Masters. Jace is troubled by something from his past and Cami is the only one able to help him.
